E. A. "Rex"'s Story
Life
My life has been an "E Ticket" ride so far. After College and Vietnam, I worked in the fast lane, married, divorced and married again. My late wife Vicki and I had 6 grown children,10 wonderful grandchildren, and 11 amazing Great-Grandkids. When the last child "left the nest," we retired, sold our house and went full time in our Motorcoach for 10 years. I retired early for medical reasons as a result of my service in Vietnam. When I go to the various hospitals I was able to park the motor coach at the hospital for free, that has been a blessing.
On September 26, 2018 my dear wife Vicki died. My heart was broken and no one and at the time I had no one to help heal it, the memories we had together, no one can steal them.
COVIT-19 kept me indoors after Vicki’s death for a time. I kept in touch with friends via my Ham Radio a lot. One dear friend and fellow Ham is Donna Snow from the TV Show “Texas Flip N Move.” We have had been friends several years before Vicki’s passing and before she lost her husband.
Donna began doing things together, that grew into dating, then I ask her to marry me and on December 31, 2021 we got Married!! We stay in touch with our family and friends via internet, cell phone, and Ham Radio. Donna and I are both Hams, my call is W5EAK and Donna's call is W5SML. School
Our High School years were in an interesting time in American History. After I graduated, I left the United States and headed for Vietnam. Upon my return, It seamed like came back to a different country. Most of my friends had left town by then so I did shortly afterwards. I run into a classmate from time to time and it is nice to catch up on all those years. My college years were interesting as a Vietnam Veteran. I was a social outcast, but I did earn my MBA and moved on.
Sadly I have lost touch with many of my classmates both in High School and College. Same is true for many of my Comrades I served with in the Navy. I visited the "Wall" and discovered after I left for home several of my Comrades died. It was very emotional for me to see their names on the Wall. God Rest Their Souls!
